The new product, PartMiner CAPS™ DMS, will allow Mentor Graphics® customers to access the world's largest repository of component and pin data directly from within the Mentor Graphics' DMS Xchange™ solution.

With this integrated solution Mentor Graphics DMS users have direct access to PartMiner's CAPS database, with coverage of 21 million components from over 2,000 manufacturers. Mentor Graphics customers who subscribe to PartMiner's CAPS DMS can utilize DMS search criteria to select manufacturer, part number, parametric, lifecycle and pin-out data, and automatically import this information. This process will provide the ability to quickly and easily populate ECAD libraries with comprehensive component data. With this information at their fingertips, engineers will be able to quickly and easily perform detailed analyses of components early in the design cycle before making a final part selection, resulting in lower reengineering costs later in the process.

Subscribers will also be able to select and download XML pin data files directly from CAPS for the purpose of component symbol generation. Combining the XML pin data with Mentor Graphics symbol generation tools enables the customer to build symbols to specified standards in seconds. The manual creation of high pin count symbols will see significant productivity improvement with this automation.
